Effect of Nitrogen Supply on Growth and Nitrogen Utilization in Hemp (Cannabis sativa L.)

Hemp is a multipurpose crop that cultivated worldwide for fiber, oil, and cannabinoids. Nitrogen (N) key factor getting higher production of hemp, but its application often excessive results in considerable losses the soil–plant–water continuum. Therefore, rational N supply important increasing efficiency productivity. The main objective this paper was to determine responses four hemp cultivars different levels exogenous-N as nutrient solution during vegetative growing period. experiment conducted at Yunnan University Kunming, China. Yunma 1, 7, Bamahuoma, Wanma 1 were used experimental materials, five supplying (1.5, 3.0, 6.0, 12.0, 24.0 mmol/L NO3-N solution) set by using pot culture adding solution. root, stem, leaf plant sampled determination growth indexes, dry matter accumulation distribution, physiological indicators. height, stem diameter, weight, significantly increased with increase supply. Root/shoot weight ratios, mass density, use decreased accumulation, chlorophyll content, soluble protein nitrate reductase activity leaves Among more than NR activity. activities superoxide dismutase peroxidase first then supply, maximum value 6.0 mmol/L, while content malondialdehyde when level exceeded mmol/L. These revealed could improve growth, period, should not exceed cultivars, performed well application.
